Reports reaching Peacefmonline.com indicate that
a fuel pipeline at the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) has exploded causing a wildfire
to break out around the Cocoa Processing Factory.
The pipeline has fuel from the harbour to TOR.
The fire is also said to have razed nearby shops around Rana Motors and the whole area has been engulfed by a thick dark plume making its way into the sky.
According to an eye witness account, the incident started when an electrical pole fell on a fuel pipeline around Rana Motors which immediately sparked fire.
Though personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service are making frantic efforts to put out the fire, report by Peace FM's Joe De Graft Aikins indicate that they are fighting a losing battle and are being forced to ensure the ravaging fire does not cause any major devastation.
