Nigeria's most prominent militant group, the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), says it has called off planned bomb blasts and attacks on oil facilities so elections will not be disrupted in the West African country.
Nigeria was in the process of a legislative vote on Saturday when the country's electoral chief announced its postponement to today because of widespread organisational problems.
Presidential elections are to take place on April 9 and governorship and state assembly polls on April 16.
