Oil-gas industry-Nigeria - President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday approved the re- appointment of Mr. Augustine Olusegun Oniwon as the Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation NNPC. The re-appointment is to allow for continuity and full implementation of critical government initiatives in the Oil and Gas Industry including passing the Petroleum Industry Bill. Oniwon who hails from Kogi State, was first appointed on May 16, 2010.
The Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Deizani Alison-Madueke,
told State House Correspondents yesterday that the President also approved the new appointments/changes in the Oil and Gas industry.
THe President has also approved the re-assignment of the Group Executive Director
(Exploration and Production), Mr. Philip O. Chukwu, to Group Executive Director (Refining and Petrochemicals) of NNPC. Chukwu hails from Imo State.
Also, the Managing Director Warri Refining and Petrochemicals Company
Limited, Mr. Andrew Laah Yakubu has been named the Group Executive Director (Exploration and Production) of NNPC. Yakubu hails from Kaduna State.
The Group General Manager Gas Master Plan, Dr. David Oluseyi Ige, who haisl from Oyo State, has been appointed the Group Executive Director (Gas and Power) of NNPC.
The Group General Manager and Senior Technical Assistant to the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mr Haruna Omoye Momoh has been appointed the Managing Director of Pipelines and Products Marketing Company Ltd (PPMC). He hails from Edo State.
The General Manager, Projects of NNPC, Mr. Goody Chike Egbuji, has been appointed Executive Secretary, Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA). He hails from Enugu State.
The Group General Manager, Corporate Planning & Strategy (CP&S), Dr.
Timothy Effiong Okon has been appointed the Corporate Coordinator, Corporate Planning & Strategy. He hails from Akwa Ibom State.
Also a new Group Directorate has been created namely the Business Development Directorate of the NNPC; it subsumes the functions of the current Special Services Directorate. Mr Aminu Baba-Kusa has been deployed to head the new Directorate. He hails from Kano State.
