Luanda, Angola, 12 March – Oil production in Angola rose in Fenruary by 75,000 barrels to 1.945 barrels per day, the highest level since January 2007, financial news agency Bloomberg reported.
The other large African producer, Nigeria saw its production fall by 85,000 barrels per day to an average of 1.94 million barrels per day last month thus seeing the biggest fall in production amongst OPEC countries.
In January Nigerian production was anaverage of 2.025 million barrels per day. The Bloomberg News Survey said this drop had been due to a rise in rebel attacks on oil facilities.
On 30 January, the “Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta” ended the cease-fire that had lasted for three month, announcing it would re-launch attacks on the Nigerian oil industry. (macauhub)
