DUBAI (Zawya Dow Jones)--State-owned Kuwait National Petroleum Co extinguished fire at the gasoline unit of the country's largest oil refinery, which wounded four workers, state-run Kuwait News Agency, or KUNA, reported Monday, citing a government official.
The fire, which broke out during routine maintenance at Mina al-Ahmadi refinery, was quickly put out, and output and exports weren't affected, KUNA quoted Kuwait's oil sector spokesman Sheikh Talal al-Khaled al-Sabah as saying.
Mina al-Ahmadi processes 460,000 barrels of crude oil a day.
A member of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, Kuwait pumped 2.28 million barrels of oil in February, a survey by Dow Jones Newswires showed this month.
